Fishing
Good stocks of brown and rainbow trout can be found in the adjacent Goobaragandra River. Also a short drive to the Tumut River and within easy travelling to the Burrinjuck and Blowering Dam reservoirs
Flora & Fauna
Native wildflowers abound on the river banks and the surrounding high country around the valley in the spring and summer time.
The rare Tumut Grevillea occurs only along a few kilometers of the valley and produces a mass of pink flowers during October and November.
Bird watchers can see many species of native birds, including lyre birds. Whilst in the nearby bushland wombats, wallabies and echidnas can be seen.
Bushwalking
The 440km Hume and Hovell Walking Track crosses the Goobarragandra River at the campsite. The historic and scenic track offers long distance walkers a 25 day walk or short easy walks as well.
